Evelyn Ford is more than a CEO she is a fighter, a protector, and a voice for those who feel
unheard. As the Founder and CEO of Angie’s Braveheart Domestic Violence Awareness
Network, Evelyn has turned her deepest pain into a powerful force for change. She is relentless
in her mission to stand beside survivors, walking with them through their darkest moments and
guiding them toward healing and hope.
Evelyn’s journey began with love, loss, and an unshakable promise. When her beloved sister,
Angie, lost her life to domestic violence, Evelyn refused to let her story be forgotten. She sat by
her sister’s hospital bed, feeling helpless, wishing she could do more. That heartbreak became
her fuel, driving her to ensure no one else suffers in silence. She vowed to create a place where
survivors are not just heard, but truly seen, supported, and empowered.
Through Angie’s Braveheart, Evelyn has built a refuge one that educates, uplifts, and fights for
justice. Whether she is organizing emergency support for survivors, leading community
awareness events, or pushing for systemic change, Evelyn does it all with compassion, fire, and
an unwavering commitment to those in need. She believes that no one should have to choose
between their safety and their survival, and she works tirelessly to provide the resources,
guidance, and advocacy that make escape and healing possible.
Her heart for people is matched by her expertise. With a Bachelor of Science in Business
Administration from Saint Xavier University and extensive training in human services, she
blends strategic leadership with deep personal empathy. Evelyn has worked in nonprofit and
public service roles, including as an Administrative Assistant at Lakeside Community
Committee and a Contract Coordinator at IlliniCare Health, where she witnessed firsthand
the barriers many survivors face. She has since dedicated herself to breaking down those barriers,
ensuring that help is accessible, immediate, and without judgment.
Evelyn is relentless in her pursuit of justice and safety. She doesn’t just talk about change she
creates it. She shows up, she listens, and she fights for those who feel they have no fight left. Her
mission is clear: no survivor should ever feel alone, ashamed, or without options.
Through Angie’s Braveheart, Evelyn Ford is not just advocating for change, she is the change.
She stands on the front lines for survivors, never backing down, never giving up, and always
leading with love. Because to Evelyn, this isn’t just a cause it’s a calling. And she will answer it,
every single time.
